Test Results

test_results6When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Usually our doctors will contact you by letter or phone if you have abnormal results. Sometimes they will discuss the results directly with you in the letter or on the phone. Other times they will request that you book another appointment to discuss the results face toface.

If your results are normal, the doctor will report them as such on the computer system. If you phone the surgery 2 weeks after you have had the test then reception staff should be able to advise you whether your results are normal.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results. They can only read to you the comments the doctor has made regarding your results on the computer system.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
